Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how EverSearher ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on everything-search.com (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, remember preferences, or understand usage.

Local storage (including HTML5 localStorage) is a browser feature that stores data locally on your device, similar to cookies but not automatically sent with every HTTP request.

Session storage works like local storage but is cleared when you close the browser tab.

We collectively refer to these as "cookies and similar technologies" where relevant below.

2. Our approach: minimal by design

EverSearher is a static personal blog. We deliberately avoid advertising networks, social media plugins, A/B testing platforms, and analytics dashboards that rely on cross-site tracking. Our cookie footprint is intentionally small.

3. Cookies and storage we use

We do not currently set traditional HTTP cookies for analytics, marketing, or social sharing on this Site.

4. What we do NOT use

To be explicit, the following are not deployed on everything-search.com:

  • Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible, or similar visitor tracking cookies
  • Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or retargeting cookies
  • Social media embed cookies (Facebook/Twitter/X widgets)
  • Heatmap or session recording tools (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, etc.)
  • Affiliate tracking cookies
  • WordPress login or comment cookies (the Site does not offer accounts or comments)

5. Third-party content

Articles may link to external sites such as browser documentation or third-party software pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not control third-party processing.

6. Legal basis (EEA/UK)

For the essential localStorage entry es_cookie_ok, we rely on:

  • Consent — you choose "Accept" on the banner; until then the notice remains visible
  • Legitimate interest — storing a single consent flag is necessary to honor your choice and meet transparency expectations

We do not use non-essential cookies requiring opt-in under ePrivacy rules because we do not deploy them.

7. How to manage or delete cookies

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data → Cookies and site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Official guides: Chrome, Firefox, Edge.

If you clear es_cookie_ok, the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit — that is expected behavior.

Blocking all cookies and storage may prevent the consent banner from remembering your choice. The Site will still function for reading articles.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. We do not track users across sites; therefore we do not change behavior based on these signals beyond our default no-tracking design.

9. Updates to this Cookie Policy

If we add features that require new cookies (for example, comments or analytics), we will update this page and the cookie banner before or when those features go live. The "Last updated" date will change.
